The social determinants of health are the conditions in which people are born, grow, live, work and age. These circumstances are shaped by the distribution of money, power and resources at global, national and local levels. The social determinants of health are mostly responsible for health inequities - the unfair and avoidable differences in health status seen within and between countries. Therefore, family and social support, eliminating social and economic constraints such as unemployment and its consequences, promoting job security, gender inequality with an emphasis on Islamic culture and value, controlling and reducing individuals` harmful factors, particularly the disadvantaged class, promoting the universal coverage of health services etc. all of which play significant role in ensuring the community`s health and moving towards a "healthier society". In fact, the main goal of the social determinants of health is health equity and equality in various arenas based on individual and social needs.
